Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez 'is in line for a hefty pay rise this summer'... with Erik ten Hag 'keen to reward him' after stellar debut season in the Premier League

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is set for a hefty pay rise this summer, according to reports.

Martinez, who was part of Argentina's World Cup winning squad in December, has become an integral part of Erik ten Hag's defence at Old Trafford this season.

There had been concerns that the defender's physique - namely his 5ft 9in frame - would prove costly in the Premier League but he has excelled with consistent performances for the Red Devils.

And Martinez is set to be rewarded by the club's hierarchy with a £50,000 wage increase according to The Sun, though there are no immediate plans.
